The Garden

A week before Tom left we planted this garden. It is coming a long nicely, which after 8 years of marriage, is a first for us. The kids love it and Emma even gets the neighbor boy to help her weed it.
So our pumpkin plants, first zucchini which Sam ate for dinner tonight, our raspberries, tomato plants, and even a some roses.

  1. Awesome, it looks like a good crop. We've had so much rain our tomatoes aren't doing too well and our green lettuce is turning yellow because of the water as well. Hopefully, all will turn around here soon.

  3. I'm so jealous of your zuchini! Good ole Missouri squash bugs eat ours. Somehow, like suckers, we plant them year after year. My absolute favorite is zuchini cooked on the grill with butter and parmesean cheese. Eat one for me, I'll live vicariously!

We didn't know Tom was deployed. Derek's brother left this week for training in CA, then in September he goes to Afghanistan for a year. He has a wife and 4 kids in San Antonio. He's an officer in the Army. We'll keep the Barlow family in our prayers!

  4. We have zucchini coming out our ears. Our plant this year is very prolific. At least our 5 year old Carolyn checks on it every day so we don't have any baseball bats yet, just normal sized ones.
